Snow!
Well, guess it was bound to happen. About every 10 years, the peninsula of Virginia gets a huge drop of snow. The day they started talking about it, it was 60° and lovely. Everyone was baffled by the weather forecast for one day later. Well, as if on cue, at 1am Saturday morning, it snowed. It kept snowing all through Saturday and when it was finished, we had about 1 foot of snow standing where there once was none. Unbelievable. The roads are pure ice and being a region that doesn't normally get any snow, let alone feet of snow, well - no snow-clearing equipment is available. While driving to work, the freeway was very slick Saturday morning. People were driving cars that had no business being out there. I saw some nasty accidents, just because people just don't think. Rob wanted to take the boys out in it the first day, but it was coming down and was way too cold for them to be out. Sunday was a different story, though! Rob got suited up and went to work shoveling the walkway and driveway, then coating everything with rock salt. I got the boys whatever winter wear I could scrounge and took them outside to see what it was all about. They had a BALL! Afterward, we came back in the house and enjoyed some hot cocoa.
